Ajax vs Heerenveen (16 August 2026, Eredivisie): match facts, form and head-to-head

Ajax’s home draw with Heerenveen ended 2-2, leaving the Dutch champions still perched in fifth place with ten points from five matches, their record of three wins, one draw and one loss giving them a comfortable +8 goal difference. The visitors, meanwhile, remain stuck in mid‑table at eleventh, having collected six points after one win, three draws and two defeats, and seeing their goal difference slip to –2. The two sides have already met once this campaign, that encounter also finishing level, so the stalemate in Amsterdam simply extended an evenly balanced head‑to‑head. Both clubs now look to turn the point into a win as the race for European spots and survival tightens up.
