Eintracht Trier vs RB Leipzig (22 August 2026, DFB-Pokal): match facts, form and head-to-head

RB Leipzig stormed into the Allianz Stadion and turned a routine league fixture into a six‑goal showcase, crushing Eintracht Trier 6‑0 on their own turf. The German heavyweights, perched ninth in the table with six points from two wins, extended their goal tally to nine while conceding five, underscoring a potent attack despite a leaky defence. For Trier, the defeat deepens a season that has yet to produce any points, leaving their statistical record blank and their morale in tatters. This result also tipped the head‑to‑head balance firmly in Leipzig’s favour, as they now hold the sole victory in their two‑match series this campaign.
