A clash looms at the Opel Arena as seventh‑placed Mainz, sitting on four points after a win, a draw and a loss and a modest 6‑3 goal tally, host Borussia Dortmund, who sit second with nine points from three straight victories and an 8‑2 scoring record. The hosts will be looking to tighten up a defence that has conceded three while trying to add to their solitary win, whereas Dortmund arrive confident, unbeaten and eager to extend their perfect run. Head‑to‑head this season has yet to be decided, but the disparity in form and firepower suggests the visitors hold a clear edge. Both sides know a positive result could reshape the top half of the table, making the encounter a pivotal one for the remainder of the campaign.
