Genoa vs Ascoli (16 August 2026, Coppa Italia): match facts, form and head-to-head

Genoa’s home ground turned into a showcase of attacking flair as they thumped Ascoli 4‑1, a result that propels the struggling Serie B side to just one point from five matches, sitting 19th with a meagre 3‑10 goal record. The victory not only provides a rare win for the Genoa squad but also narrows the gap to Ascoli, who sit comfortably in fifth place with ten points after three wins, one draw and a single loss and a respectable 7‑4 tally. The win also flips the head‑to‑head balance for the season, giving Genoa the sole triumph in their two‑leg encounter. While Ascoli remain well within the promotion chase, the result underscores Genoa’s urgent need to convert such performances into consistent points if they are to escape the relegation zone.
