Lille vs Auxerre (5 December 2026, Ligue 1): match facts, form and head-to-head

Lille head into the clash at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy perched at the summit of the table with ten points from four games – three wins and a draw, and a tidy 7‑2 goal difference. Their opponents, Auxerre, sit precariously in 15th place, having collected only three points after a solitary victory and three defeats, leaving them with a 5‑11 deficit on the scoresheet. The stark contrast in form makes this a classic top‑vs‑bottom encounter, with Lille eager to cement their early dominance and Auxerre desperate for a lifeline to climb out of the relegation mire. If Lille can maintain their defensive solidity while exploiting their superior firepower, the match should tilt decisively in their favour.
