Marseille vs Strasbourg (21 August 2026, Ligue 1): match facts, form and head-to-head

Marseille turned their home ground into a fortress, dispatching Strasbourg 4‑0 and snapping a string of three defeats that had left them stranded in 13th place with just three points. The win not only improved their goal difference to an even 6‑6 but also gave them a crucial three points as they strive to climb out of the relegation zone. Strasbourg, sitting sixth with seven points from two wins, a draw and a loss, saw their modest goal surplus of +1 shrink to a negative balance after the heavy defeat. The result also settled the season’s head‑to‑head record, giving Marseille the sole victory in their two meetings. With Marseille now on the back foot of the table and Strasbourg slipping back toward the mid‑table scramble, the gap between the two sides has widened dramatically.
