Rayo Vallecano vs Atlético Madrid (3 January 2027, La Liga): match facts, form and head-to-head

Rayo Vallecano travel to the Estadio de Vallecas with just four points from five games, sitting 16th after a solitary win, a draw and three defeats, and a goal deficit of eight‑to‑fourteen. Their opponents, Atlético Madrid, sit comfortably in fourth place with ten points, having amassed three victories, a draw and only one loss while scoring ten and conceding six. The gap between the two sides is stark, and the recent head‑to‑head record favours the capital giants, who have traditionally dominated the fixture. For Rayo, the challenge will be to tighten up a leaky defence and try to turn their lone win into a momentum‑building result, while Atletico will look to consolidate their push for the top spots with another three points.
