St Patrick's Athletic vs Sligo Rovers (3 April 2026, League of Ireland Premier Division): match facts, form and head-to-head

St Patrick’s Athletic turned their home ground into a fortress, thumping Sliga Rovers 4‑1 to consolidate their hold on second place with 53 points from 30 games, a record that includes 15 wins, eight draws and a goal difference of +22 (47‑25). The visitors, languishing in tenth with just 23 points, saw their woes deepen as they slipped further behind the leaders, their tally now reflecting five victories, eight draws and 17 defeats, and a bleak -27 goal difference (23‑50). The result also extended St Patrick’s dominance in the head‑to‑head this season, having already won the two previous meetings while Sligo’s lone draw remains the only point they have managed against the Athlétic side. With the win, St Patrick’s keep the pressure on the league leaders, while Sligo’s survival hopes grow increasingly precarious as the campaign heads toward its climax.
