Athletic Club vs Málaga (9 May 2027, La Liga): match facts, form and head-to-head

Athletic Club head into the clash at San Mamés perched in ninth place with seven points from two wins, a draw and two defeats, their goal tally edging just ahead at 7‑6. Málaga, meanwhile, languish in 17th spot, having scraped three points from three stalemates and two losses, and are struggling defensively, having conceded eight while finding the net only twice. The Basque side will be keen to extend their modest lead over the relegation zone, while the Andalusians will be desperate for a first win to lift them out of the bottom half. Their recent head‑to‑head record offers little comfort for Málaga, as Athletic have generally held the upper hand in previous meetings. Both teams know that three points could prove pivotal in the battle for survival and European ambition.
